| This piece is from the same stock as my Mulberry End Grain Pot and Bowl. This wood is fun to work with. It is wet and bright buttery yellow. I started turning this piece at our Long Island Woodworkers Round Robin on July 2. In fact, you can see me in this video clip my husband & I took at the event. This is a natural edge vessel made from side grain as opposed to the end grain pot and Bowl above. I turned it to 1/16" or less wall thickness. Look at Detail 7 above to see how translucent the piece is. It was hand sanded to 600 grit and has about 8 coats of lacquer. The lace edge was painstakingly pierced using magnifying lenses and a pneumatic tool similar to a dental drill spinning at around 400,000rpm. The pattern was done freehand. Thanks to a friend in the tree business I picked up a van load more of mulberry on July 12 so look for more pieces made from this bright buttery yellow wood. |

A Note About Prices
As an artist, I should not be afraid to display the price of an item in my gallery. The items I have available for sale clearly list the price rather than burdening the buyer with an annoying "inquire" in place of the price. Once a piece is sold I will move it to my Portfolio.
As a collector of art, I find it extremely annoying that I have to wade through fancy flash "galleries" only to find out that I need to contact the artist to find out if a piece is available and what the price is.
What about custom orders?
Q: I really like the design of one Trufful™ but I'd like a different color or wood. Can I request a custom made Trufful™?
A: Art is very personal, and no two pieces of wood are the same. There is no guarantee that, after filling your order, you would be happy with the piece. I want you to be delighted with your Trufful™ so, while I will not accept custom orders, I will happily take all suggestions for designs.
